Ken Lassesen
Ken Lassesen M.Sc. has a B.Sc. in Probability and Statistics and a M.Sc. in Statistics and Operations Research. He has worked professionally with a wide variety of Artificial Intelligence methodologies since 1989 and has taught undergraduates courses on it at Chapman University. He became interested in the Microbiome because of developing myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome where he found that all of the clinical studies agreed with a primary cause being dysbiosis. Dysbiosis for this condition was first reported in 1998. While semi-retired after a career with Microsoft, Amazon, Telus, Verizon, Starbuck’s, and many other software companies, he has focused on the challenges of the microbiome using his software, data science, statistics, and artificial intelligence skills. He is a pro-bono advisor to several startups in the microbiome field.
